E.W. Tompkins was founded in 1921 by Elbert W. Tompkins. In October of 1996 the company celebrated it's 75th anniversary. Our original offices were located in downtown Albany on Market Street near Grand Street. In June 1996 the company moved into it's new corporate offices at 124-126 Sheridan Avenue in Albany.

Shortly after being established, E.W. Tompkins became one of the areas largest mechanical contractors, and is currently ranked among the largest mechanical contractors in the northeast by the Capital District Business Review. The company provides quality mechanical services throughout New York State, with an emphasis on the fabrication and installation of HVAC systems.
